What is Launchpad?

Launchpad is a program that provides our youngest campers (4 and 5 year olds) with support to help them fully integrate—or launch—into camp. These campers are not separated from the rest of the campers, nor are they limited in terms of what activities they can participate in. They have access to all of the same activities that the rest of the campers do.

All Pre-K and Kindergarteners are automatically invited to be a part of Launchpad, a program that provides additional support to campers who need more help integrating into camp. In addition to helping with sensitive issues like finding friends and activities, the Launchpad staff will help with some of the basic issues, like reminding children to use the restroom, wash their hands and drink water.

Launchpad offers pathways for getting involved in studio activities, in addition to supported time outdoors and with our recreational activities. At camp, these young campers learn to be comfortable around older children and in a larger environment, which is great preparation for elementary school. Because we get children from all over, campers will sometimes meet children who end up being in their kindergarten class.
